Sporty Slip Dress

Sorry for the late post, but to say the past four days haven't gone my way would be an understatement.  Late Friday night I found out that Mason had head lice.  Head lice!!  And yes, the next morning after treating all our hair, I discovered that Tyler and myself also were infested.  Seriously though, it is just my luck that my stay at home twins would contract head lice.  Our time around other kids is very short, so I'm still wrapping my head around this situation.  Anyway, instead of spending the weekend up at the lake, and this week in the Cape, I've been home delousing, sterilizing, and cleaning every nook and cranny in my house and car.  I definitely went overboard with the cleaning, but hey, I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Lets not forget that I had to do this all myself, as Mike was in LA this weekend, so I'm pretty exhausted.  I hope I didn't gross you out by sharing this, but if I learned anything the past couple of days, is that lice is more of an annoyance than anything else, and there are much worse things in life.

Now onto something positive!  The slip dress has made a comeback this season, and I'm quite happy with its return.   I have seen many bloggers giving their slip dresses a 90's flare by layering them over tee shirts, and I decide it was time that I gave this look a try.  I've had this blush slip dress sitting in my closet for several years, and decided to go for a casual feel by pairing it with my Stan Smith sneakers and a denim jacket.  I love the sporty contrast that the tee and sneakers added to such a feminine piece, and thought it made a fun daytime look.

What do you think?  Would you rock a slip dress?

  1. 2 years ago I had lice!! My then 3rd grader brought it home from school. It is annoying! All the cleaning and laundry is the worst part. We now have all of our own brushes, my youngest gets a spray in her hair everyday that supposed to repel lice and I add tea tree oil to the shampoo and conditioner. Ha!! My husband did most of the work, i sat in a chair felt sorry for myself and drank a lot of wine!

  6. Oh my goodness! I am so sorry. Like you, I am surprised they got it. You are a champ to have cleaned and sterilized all on you own for all of you. Loving this slip dress! I keep wanting to try the trend but haven't found the right option for maternity.
