Updated Pencil Skirt + WW Link Up

Funny story, when we were on the way to shoot this look, my husband turned to me and simply said "Your outfits are all looking the same".  Although I recently wore this top on the blog, here, I was surprised at this statement because I have never styled a skirt like this on the blog.  However, that's not what he meant.  I've been wearing so many off-the-shoulder tops, especially in the shades of blue, that he thought it was getting repetitive.  I mean, I guess I have been sharing a lot of shoulder bearing tops lately, but they are all a little different, so what does he know, right?  Anyway, I'm taking that as a hint that I need to put my favorite trend on the back burner for a while.

I'm excited for today's #OOTD because I'm showing you how you can dress up an off-the-shoulder top, and make it work for the office.  Although this look is probably (okay, definitely) not appropriate for a conservative office, it does work perfectly for those in the creative field.  It is something I can see myself wearing to a meeting, or blogger luncheon, and would also transition well for after work drinks.  This split hem skirt is the newest addition to my wardrobe, and I love how the open slit adds a fun update to your basic pencil skirt.  Paired with my pinstripe blouse, and Chanel-like heels, I felt like a total #girlboss in this look.  You can make this skirt more modest by pairing it with a button down blouse, and yet it will still have a fun feel.  By the way, I'm obsessed with these heels.  Only Chanel can make the granny look so trendy.  If you don't want to splurge on the real deal (plus, it's almost impossible to find your size), then these Ivanka Trump heels are the way to go (but hurry, they are selling out fast).

  22. I think your top looks fabulous on you! At least your husband notices what your wearing. I'm pretty sure mine has absolutely no idea what I wear everyday - even though he's also the one that takes my pictures. I love your look. Go #girlboss!

  23. So glad to see your linkup thriving as you are one of my favorite fashion bloggers whom I draw lots of inspiration from, always. Like today, this outfit is 1000% chic, elegant, sophisticated, sexy and stunning. Love love that skirt. I actually own a similar one. Between you, Amy Ann and Rachel of Garay Treasures I am convinced to add some granny heel pumps to my closet. Your pair is beautiful and so classy. I need them.

Glad I stopped by today and caught up with you my friend. Welcome by!

Have a great week!! Ada. =)
