Wedding Guest Attire with Best Dressed

Wedding season has arrived!  Do you all have weddings to attend this summer?  I only have two this year, which one of them was this past weekend in Long Island, NY.  Because my husband and I haven't been on a trip together since our honeymoon, we decided to turn the wedding into a long, kid-free weekend in NYC.  It was such a great time catching up with our New York friends, walking around the Lower East Side, enjoying a leisurely brunch (something that just doesn't happen with two toddlers), and snapping blog photos.  We ended up grabbing dinner at Stanton Social, and drinks at the rooftop bar at the Hotel Indigo, which is where we stayed.  On Saturday afternoon we headed east for the wedding, which was held at Bourne Mansion.  It was absolutely gorgeous, and I had to make sure to snap some photos of my dress, because I was in love with it.

Some of you know from my past posts, that I'm a huge fan of renting dresses.  I love renting because I'm able to wear different dresses to all the formal occasions that I have, without spending a ton of money.  I also love that it allows me to wear designer labels, that I otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.  This dress was rented from Best Dressed, which is a brick and mortar store here in the Boston area.  I love that I can actually go into the store and try on dresses, so I know that I am renting one that fits well and is flattering on.  And it's so easy.  Not only do you get to try on your dresses, but the staff is amazing at helping you chose the perfect one, and styling it with jewelry and accessories.  You get to keep the dress for five days, then simply just drop it off.  Best dressed will take care of the dry cleaning and any minor repairs if needed.

I chose this one shoulder, puff sleeve dress by Eva Franco.  The one shoulder cut is huge this spring, and I was obsessed with the puff sleeve detail.  Because I wanted the focal point to be on the sleeve, I kept my accessories simple and paired it with drop earrings, also from Best Dressed, and nude heels to lighten up the look for spring.

Have you ever considered renting your dresses?  Best Dressed has locations in Charlestown and South Boston.  You cal also see my previous posts about Best Dressed here and here

  14. I am glad this is the dress you settled on for the wedding because it was my favorite and looks fab on you with those pretty champagne earrings. I own a very similar navy cocktail dress, also. Best Dressed sounds like a great store to rent from.

And I am glad you made it a fun long weekend in NYC with hubby. Those are the best. =)
