One Shoulder Top Two Ways + Stitch Fix Review

Stitch fix top

I finally jumped on the one shoulder trend.  I have a countless number of off-the-shoulder and cold shoulder tops, but I hadn't yet added the one shoulder to my wardrobe.  Let me just say that I had been missing out!  Not only to I love the asymmetrical (and shoulder baring) look, but this style is very comfortable to wear.  No adjusting of the shoulders throughout the day is required.  This ruffled one shoulder top was part of my latest Stitch Fix shipment, which by the way, was my best one yet.  If you have been following this blog for a while, you know that I'm a big Stitch Fix fan, and have a lot of luck when it comes to the service.  This time around, all five items fit my style perfectly.  However, do to a little thing called the #NSALE, I was only able to keep one item this month, and this top was the winner.  It is by the brand Q&A, and I just love the ruffle and studded details.  It's the perfect top to wear for drinks with the girls, or on a date night with the hubby.  My initial thought was to pair it with skinny jeans and heels, but when I came across this asymmetrical skirt while looking through my closet, I thought that it would a make a fun pairing.  I love how they balanced each other when paired together, and gave the appearance of wearing a dress.  It would be a perfect outfit for a semi-formal event such as a dinner rehearsal, fashion week party, or holiday party (yes, I just said that).  Because I couldn't decide which look I liked more, I decided to share both.

If you're unfamiliar with Stitch Fixit is a clothing subscription service where items are picked out based upon your style preferences, and delivered right to your door step.  Upon signing up, you are asked questions about your style, then assigned a stylist who picks out five items per shipment to send you.  You have three days to try on the clothes and decide what you want to keep or send back. This is the best part about the service, since you are able to do this in the comfort of your own home. You simply keep what you want, and send the rest back in the prepaid shipping bag that is provided. There is a styling fee with each box of $20, however, if you decide to purchase items from your box, then the $20 is put towards your purchase.  If you decide to keep all 5 items, then you get a 25% discount!  You can read my past couple of Stitch Fix reviews here and here.

I did a Stitch Fix try on session on my Insta Stories, which I wanted to share here, so I included it at the end of this post.  Make sure to check it out if you want to see the other items that were in my fix.  I apologize for the poor quality, as it was filmed on Instagram, and I didn't initially intend on putting it on the blog.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  Although summer went by WAY too fast, I'm excited for the fall, and the change of season.  I will be spending the holiday weekend soaking up the sun one more time at the lake.  We have a wedding to attend there on Saturday, then the rest of the weekend will be spent barbecuing, boating, and having fun with the family.

  1. I can see why you kept that top - it's beautiful and looks so good both with the black skirt and the jeans! :) I haven't got any off the shoulder or one shoulder pieces, but I do like the one shoulder look more :)

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you :)

  8. I really need to schedule another fix SOON! I love this top and I honestly thought it was a dress at first until I started reading. It really would work for a holiday ('cause ya know they'll be here before we know it!) dressy outfit. It also looks great with denim. I have ONE off the shoulder top and I do like how comfortable it is and I don't have to adjust it all day long!

  10. The top you kept is stunning and will work with so many looks. I love both ways you styled it. With the asymmetrical skirt is my favorite since it looks like an LBD and I love that you went for a nude heel. That would be a great look for a Fall wedding. And girl those Channel earrings are awesome!

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

  12. I absolutely love the off the shoulder, and one shoulder trend. Sexy and classy at the same time. Great looks, but I am feeling the look with the skinny jeans. Great looks altogether though.
