I finally tried Trunk Club!  I had been wanting to try the personal styling service for several months, but for some reason never got around to scheduling my first Trunk.  Now, I'm mad I didn't sign up sooner, because I'm loving the service!

If you're unfamiliar with Trunk club, it's a personal styling service that is owned by Nordstrom.  Some cities (Boston being one) have clubhouses where you can shop with a personal stylist in person.  However, if you're unable to make it to a Clubhouse, you can sign up online and have a Trunk sent to your home!  After signing up and creating your profile (which is quick and easy), you are assigned a stylist who will then message you to learn about your style preferences.  I loved that I had an open conversation with my stylist as she got to know my style, and I could easily tell her what I was looking for and wanting to add to my closet.  Your stylist then puts together a package (Trunk) of 12 items to send to you, all to try on in the comfort of your own home.  You have 5 days to decide what you want to keep and send back, then you can either schedule a pick up of your Truck (in the prepaid package provided), or drop it off at your local Nordstrom store.  Also, if you like an item and it's the wrong size, or want it in a different color, you can exchange it!  The best part is, you get to preview everything that your stylist sends in your Trunk beforehand!  That way, if there was something you know you don't want, you can simply have it switched out for another item!

There is a $25 styling fee with each Trunk.  If you end up keeping any items, then the $25 is put towards your purchase.  If you have a Nordstrom credit card, then the fee is waived!  You can sign up for Trunk Club here.

Here is what was in my Trunk:
1. Madewell Jumpsuit (shown above).  I thought this jump suit was super cute, and love the floral print and wide leg cut.  Unfortunately, the torso was a tad to short on me.  Between my tall frame and large chest, it just felt like it was pulling every time that I bent over.  Besides that, the rest of the jumpsuit fit great, so I think the medium would been too big.  If you're looking for a jumpsuit that can take you from day to night, I highly suggest this one!

2. Willow & Clay Print Wrap Maxi Dress.  You guys, how pretty is this dress!  I have been wanting to add a wrap dress to my wardrobe, and love the print and cut of this one.  Plus, the pom pom detailing and bell sleeves, gave it a fun kimono feel.  Unfortunately, if you're large chested, this dress isn't for you.  It barely covered my chest, and every time that I moved it fell wide open. The rest of the dress fit perfectly, so I was bummed I had to send it back.

3. 1. State Tie Front Blouse.  I feel this top would make a great staple in every woman's closet! I love the tie front detail, and can see myself wearing this with everything from jeans, to a skirt for the office.  It runs true to size (I'm wearing a small), and comes in four colors.

4. Willow & Clay Eyelet Shorts.  These are adorable!  I love the eyelet material and the pom pom detailing.  The length is perfect (not too long, but not too short), and I can see myself styling them many different ways.

5. E8 My Miista Fringe Slides.  I thought the detailing on these slides were so fun!  I love how they can easily dress up a plain outfit.  However, I really wasn't sure how much I would actually wear them, so I sent them back.

6. Leith Side Knot Tee.  This tee is so my style! The knot detail adds such a fun touch to a basic, and I'm obsessed with the color.  It's perfect paired with jeans, or can be dressed up.  It's also available in Ivory and Black.

7. Marc Fisher Zala Pump.  One thing that I needed to add to my wardrobe was a nude pump, so I asked my stylist to send me a pair.  This isn't a style that I would pick out for myself, but instantly fell in love with them after trying them on!  They're perfect for both daytime and night, and the block heel makes them comfortable and easy to walk in.  These are a classic that I will have in my closet for years to come.  They are also available in 8 colors.

8. Vince Camuto Emberton Mule.  I actually asked my stylist for a specific mule, but since they weren't available through Trunk Club, she sent these for me to try instead.  Although I like the idea of them, I was hoping for a mule with a smaller heel, and didn't love how these looked on my foot.  Plus they run about a half size small, so they didn't fit.

Not shown: I was also sent these Caslon Drawstring Linen Pants, and three swimsuits.  I had requested a couple of one piece suits, which all three were super cute, but unfortunately non fit right.

So, what did I keep?
The Marc Fischer pumps.   Not only do I love them, but they're actually an item that I needed in my wardrobe.  Trust me, there were so many great items in my Trunk, and if I had the budget, I would have also kept the 1. State Tie Front Blouse, the Leith Side Knot Tee, and the Willow & Clay Eyelet shorts (all fit perfectly too).  However with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale beginning this week, I kept my Trunk purchases this month to a minimum.

Why I love the service:
As someone who is constantly shopping online, I love this service as I get to try the items on in my home, and I'm only charged for what I keep.  It's nice to not have to deal with any returns, and the fact that I can schedule a pickup for the items I'm sending back, is a major plus!  I also love using a personal stylist, as mine sent me items that I wouldn't normally choose for myself.  For instance, although I told her I needed a nude pump, I would have never thought to try on the pair she sent.  Also, I love that she introduced me to new brands.  Although the Willow & Clay dress didn't fit, I did like the dress so I checked out other items from the brand, and love the line! I will definitely be shopping for Willow & Clay in the future!
