Quick Life Update + WW Link Up

Hi friends.  Life has been a little stressful the past few days, which is why I don't have a new outfit post today.  I had planned on sharing a perfect (dressy, yet comfortable) Thanksgiving day look, but unfortunately Tyler, my four year old son, got very sick this week landing us in the ER.  Which means photos, and editing were put to a halt.  Don't worry, I'll have the look, and some great Thanksgiving outfit ideas on the blog very soon.  In the meantime, make sure to link up your best looks this week, as I can't wait to see them!

Just a quick Tyler update, he is doing okay!  If you have been following along, then you know that he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis this past July.  Although he wasn't yet in remission, he was doing really well over the past few weeks, until he came down with a little virus.  After a few days of on and off again fevers, he woke up Wednesday morning at 3am feeling sick, and ended up not being able to hold anything down all morning.  I took him to the ER to be checked out, as I knew he would need to be on IV fluids, and that's when we discovered he has Pancreatitis.  Because of this, we've been been at Children's for the past couple of day getting him better.  The good news is that he only had a mild case of pancreatitis and is bouncing back super fast.  The bad news, is after giving him a CT Scan, we discovered more inflammation of his colon, and his colitis is actually worse than it was two months ago.  We are praying that his new medicine will kick in soon and get this disease under control, so he can get back to being the happy, funny, kind boy that is normally him.

  1. So sorry to hear your son is still so sick - it's always hard when they are in hospital, especially around the holidays. My little one was in hospital almost 2 years ago now just before Christmas and it still makes me upset to think of it - hope he will be home soon!

  6. Sorry to hear that about your son. It can be a hard thing to deal with. And makes the immune system weaker so it can be sometimes hard to fight off infections. I have Crohn’s so I know what it’s like. I take infusions every 8 weeks which helps but I do have my flares on occasion. I wish your son all the best in the world lovely :)

  7. Oh no! Sorry your son has had such a rough few months. I have an auto-immune disorder and I was really ill the first few years (I was diagnosed when I was 12), but once I got on a medication that worked, things got much better. Sending you and your family all my good thoughts!

  13. Oh Rachael, I'll be praying for your sweet boy, and your family. I know you must be sick with worry, yet you seem to be handling it with so much grace. I'm glad to hear that he is bouncing back from the pancreatitis quickly. I hope the new meds start to help with the UC quickly too.
