Easy Fall Transition

Happy Friday my friends, and happy August.  Can you believe that we're in our last month of summer? Although I'm no where near ready to put away my sundresses and denim cut offs, it's this time of year that I like to start adding warmer items into my wardrobe, that will make the transition into fall easy.  With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coming to end on Sunday (8/4), now is you last chance to stock up on some great fall pieces.  A cozy cardigan and a new pair of boots are always on the top of my shopping list from the sale, and this year I found two great options!

This Barefoot Dream Cardigan is one that has been included in the sale for a couple of years now, and it's well, a dream!  Not only is it the softest cardigan that I own, but it's one that I know I'll be wearing for years.  It looks great paired with jeans or casual dresses, but I'll also be wearing it with my pj's, as it feels like wearing a blanket.   My other cardigan pick from the sale is this Open Cardigan by BP.  Although sizes are only available in the Brown Cattail, I think the color is gorgeous and perfect for the fall!

These boots are by far my favorite purchase this year.  Although they weren't initially on my radar when shopping the sale, I was in need of a new tall boot, and they caught my eye while walking by them in the store.  Not only are they comfortable (seriously I can stand in these all day long) but they are the perfect heel height, and I love the pointed toe.  I know the sizes are limited in the color that I am wearing (Praline Suede) but they come in black, and are fully stocked!

Booties also make a great item for transitioning into the fall, and this peep toe pair is one that you can wear now, and far into the fall.  I'm also loving this perforated pair here.

Camisoles are the perfect piece for transitioning into the fall, and I make sure to add a new one to my wardrobe every year.  They are great to wear on a hot day, and when the weather cools off, I love layering them under cardigans, blazers, and leather jackets.  This one by BP. is unfortunately sold out, but I love this lace trim one, and will be getting it in a couple of colors for myself!

What items do you love to wear for transitioning into the fall?

  11. I love this look! I have a cardi or two that I really need to put into the rotation regularly for fall and I think wearing them over a lacy cami is a perfect way to not get overheated on those not-quite-cold days. I'm seeing more of the grays (like the cardi) with tans (like your boots) and I really like them together. It used to be a no-no but obviously we can overcome those :P The whole set looks wonderful on you!
