Cozy in Stripes and Plaid

I used to be the greatest sleeper.  Not only was I that person who could fall to sleep on a plane while still on the tarmac, or sleep the whole way on a two hour car ride, but I could take a two hour nap at six in the evening, and easily get into bed at 10 pm and fall right to sleep.  Then I had kids, and lately, I haven't been able to sleep.  I don't understand how it is possible for someone who is as tired as I am to have insomnia.  Not only does it take me about an hour to fall asleep each night, but when I wake up during the night, which is frequent, it takes me just as long to fall back to sleep.  Whether it's a crying baby or something as small as my dog licking her paws, it wakes me, and then I'm up, and it sucks.

With two babies I have to be up and on their schedule, so on the days when I'm too tired to function, which is almost every day, I just want to wear something comfortable and cozy.  Which brings me to this stripe dress and these fleece lined tights.  I know what you're thinking, a dress, comfortable?  But when it's a loose fitting t-shirt dress, and tights that feel more like leggings, yes, this outfit is more comfortable than throwing on jeans.  I can't rave more about these Plush tights.  They are lined with fleece making them extra warm and soft, and they don't pinch at the waistband or start to itch at the end of the day.  They have been my go-to for the past two years.

This was also the outfit I wore during our big snowstorm here in New England.  I added this over sized scarf for extra warmth, and loved how the plaid complimented the stripes in the dress.  I threw on my leather jacket and booties for an appointment and a few errands I had on Monday before the snow started.

We ended up getting almost two feet of snow.  I can't wait to take the boys outside to play, and see what they think of their first big snowfall.  Keep warm everyone and happy hump day!
