Last Saturday night I went on a much overdue girls night out. Ever since having the twins, I've become quite the homebody, and most weekend nights out consist of having dinner at my sister's house, with four kids screaming and running around. In the past year, I feel like I've put my friendships on the sideline for the twins, and have been out of touch with some of my best girlfriends. I really need to make more time for them, after all, they're the ones that help me keep my sanity! But I'll admit, it hard not to get caught up in your kid's lives, and brush off the others around you. So I'm thinking a good New Years resolution will be spending more time with my girlfriends. Not to mention, I have a closet full of dressy clothes that are dying to be worn! Which brings me to this outfit. I bought this romper back in spring, and besides dressing in it for blog photos (seen here), it has not been worn. So I was excited to finally get the chance to wear it this past weekend. Since it was on the chilly side, I added tights and a faux leather jacket (last worn here) to complete my look. Because I'm always cold, I'm a big fan of wearing opaque tights with my skirts and dresses during the winter, and I love how they can be paired with shorts (or rompers) to make them appropriate for the cooler weather.
I have to be honest though, I took these photos before I headed into Boston for the night, and after giving them a once over, I decided that my outfit would look better with sheer tights. I quickly changed, but before I could retake photos, then sun had already set, so I couldn't re-shoot the look. Although I like the opaque tights, I liked the sheer option more.
Because this romper was purchased back in the spring, it's no longer available, but I've linked some great options for long sleeve rompers below.
Oh, and these sunglasses are back in stock! They're from Ily Couture and have been sold out for the past month. I love how they look like a pair of designer glasses, but in actuality are only $22!

I love seeing this romper styled for winter with your tights, boots, and jacket. So glad you had a fun girls night. It's hard to balance it all, but friendship are important like you said.

So glad you had a girl's night out and it sounds like a great New Year's Resolution too! Love your jacket and how you styled your romper. I can totally relate to looking at fashion photos of yourself and not realizing until after you take the photos how the outfit would look better with something else. It happens to me all the time. Outfits look so different in the mirror than they do in pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect girls night out look!!!

I feel you on spending most time with my daughter since she is still very young and rarely meet up with friends. Your girls' night out look turned out lovely. I think I would like the sheer black tights a little better too. Your layered necklaces and layered bracelets are pretty and chic.
ReplyDeleteYou are killing it in this jumpsuit! I am loving those booties too.
