Dressy Metallics {Part 2} + WW Link Up

In my opinion, there's nothing more ideal than a pleated metallic skirt for the holiday season.  Whether you are headed to a holiday party, Christmas dinner, or New Years Eve event, they make a perfect option, as they are elegant and add the right amount of shine.   In Monday's post, I shared that I was hesitant to add a metallic skirt to my wardrobe because I didn't know how much I would actually wear one, especially after the holiday season.  I didn't want to spend the money on a skirt that I would only wear to one event.  However, with the right styling, I discovered that metallic skirts can easily be worn casually and all year long.  Make sure to visit Monday's post to see how I styled this skirt for an everyday look {here}.  After all, it is the holiday season and I LOVE dressing up, so obviously I had to show you how I styled this skirt formally for a party.

I paired my metallic pleated skirt with one of my favorite high neck tops, which is no stranger to the blog.  I have been loving higher necklines this season, and this blouse from Forever 21 has been featured on the blog twice before.  Not to mention that I have worn it countless amount of times off the blog!  I love the silky chiffon material {okay, it's Forever 21, so polyester}, and thought it made a perfect pairing with the metallic skirt.  Unfortunately this shirt is from last year and no longer available, but I found some similar options, which I happen to love even more than my own blouse.  I'm thinking that I need this top because I love the lace detail, and this high neck cold shoulder blouse would go with so many things in my closet!  Initially wanted to finish my look with my black ankle strap heels, but since it has been freezing here in Boston, I went with my nude pumps instead.  I added a black leather jacket for extra warmth, and love the bit of edge it brought to my look.

Does anyone have holiday parties to attend this weekend?  If so, have fun, and if you're not sure what to wear, consider a pleated metallic skirt.

  11. Forever 21 has some really pretty lace tops which, despite of the price points, are really comfortable and non scratchy. I love yours, and all those different textures together.

  15. You have me almost convinced that a metallic skirt might be a wise addition to my closet. 😀. This is such a lovely look. I actually really like the nude heels to soften the look of the leather jacket. Love it all. Hope you had a great weekend!
