Expanding Comfort Zones

When I am asked to describe my style, my answer has been the same for the past five years: classic with an edge, or a touch of rocker.  For those who have been following me for a while, you know that there is nothing I love more than a classic white button down (hello Equipment) paired with distressed jeans, or a little lace dress paired with a black leather jacket.  However, there is something about the summer that make me want to jump out of my comfort zone and experiment with different looks, especially when it comes to bohemian style.  I'm not sure if it's all the music festivals that take place, the fact that I want to bare more skin, or that the warm weather makes me more adventurous, but I'm always ready to try new looks in the summer.  This dress is the perfect example.  Although I've had an obsession with off-the-shoulder for some time now, I normally don't lean towards this type of print or big bell sleeves.  However, I'm obsessed with this dress!  It's sexy, it's fun and it's perfect for summer whether you wear it casually with flats or dressed for a night out.  Although the dress look great on it's own, I added a belt to give me a little more shape.

Again, I can't get enough of this orange GiGi New York Clutch!  The orange has complimented so many of my outfits, I'm glad I chose this color.  Below is a photo of the dress without my belt.  I wanted to show you how cute the dress is on its own.

Dress: Ceci Palm Beach Pop Up Shop// Bag: GiGi New York via Ceci Palm Beach Pop Up Shop// Belt: Joe's (similar here)// Shoes: old (similar here)// Sunnies: Karen Walker// Bracelets: Vita Fede, Love From Venus// Necklaces: Sarah Chloe// Ring: Melanie Auld//

Don't forget about the giveaway I'm hosting for a chance to win the romper that I'm wearing in last Friday's post.  You have two more days to enter (you can enter here)!  I'll be announcing the winner Friday, so make sure to check back!

  3. I'm new to your blog, but I know I'm going to be sticking around, because apparently our styles are nearly identical! I'm also a self-described "classic with a touch of rocker" and always go for those preppy pieces pairs with edgier complements. Cheers to that! And you look awesome outside your comfort zone, too. (:
